Sorry for delay in reply - Marriage record for John Powell in 1852 has John Powell, Farmer down as John's father and William Taylor, Builder as Sarah's father. John is 37 and Sarah36.

Hi John

Good to hear from you. I am attaching the relevant part of my family tree for you as a pdf - I am still trying to find John and William's parents and the Mornington connection.

I have it all documented in Family Tree Maker and my son has it on Genes Reunited.

How are you related to John Pain Powell? I have just written him down as John on my tree but in some of his childrens' baptism records he is recorded as John Pain Powell.

Yes that's my real name! Can supply my own e mail address if  you wish - having a bit of trouble with attachment.

Hello John

I think we are related! I've just come back from a weekend of research in Kingswinford and have discovered details of the family of my great grandmother, Sarah Powell, daughter of William and Harriet and sister of Emma born 1862 who I believe is the Emma in the 1871 Census on Water Street. ie John Pain and William Powell were brothers.
In searching through the parish records I found 4 children for John and Sarah plus their marriage at Holy Trinty church Kingswinford on March 23rd 1852.
I am really interested in the Mornington connection as my grandmother told me we were descendants of Lord Mornington. Do you have any info regarding John Pain Powells ancestors?
