Hi,
on Roberts wedding cert. 8/12/1876 his age is recorded as 22 and address as 18 Mill St. his father James is recorded  as a merchant seaman (deceased). Robert is recorded in the 1881 census in Buckhaven as 27 yrs. So far i have been unable to find any record of his birth or of a marriage for his parents. ???
ps thanks for your replies ;)

Hi, my gg/grandfather was Robert Sheritt he was lost at sea during a storm when the sailing vessel Star was lost east of Aberdeen in November 1982. He was married to Mary Ann Anderson in 1876 in Montrose and they had two daughters Isabella Jane and Christina, Mary remarried and moved to Dundee. Roberts father was called James and he was also a seaman his mother was Isabella nee Kennedy i would appreciate any info re the Sherrit/Kennedy families as this has become a dead end (pardon the pun).

Hi, i am new to roots chat so please forgive any errors on my part.i stumbled on this site and discussion by chance and i am delighted to have done so. like many others the domestic arrangements of my ggg/grandmother mary robb have intrigued and puzzled me particularly the entry on her death cert. having read through the forums comments i am now much more at ease with the idea of misinformation by a neighbor as for GGB who knows i have never found his grave as yet in strichen but will have another look and will also visit udny. Mary's son william my gg/father committed suicide in arbroath, angus 1932 i would be delighted to chat to any of this branch of the family. :)
