Elaine, I am your mother's cousin.  It is great to hear from you.  We no doubt met at your grandfather's (my Uncle Fred) funeral in 1976.  My wife Ann and I were living in Montreal at the time (Ile des Soeurs) and we were at both your grandfather's funeral that year and your great grandmother's as well, which was the same year. You mentioned Robert Herring from Calgary.  He was my father and passed away in 1999.  My brother ^(*) (and his wife ^(*)) still lives in Calgary as do his two sons
^(*).  My mother Marjorie passed away in Calgary in 2010 (she was 88) and my sister Patricia passed away in Calgary in 2009 (she was 53).  I would like to get in touch with you and I will try to send a private message.

I'm replying to janeb (my cousin).  Hi Jane, I will email you as soon as I get my three posts in and can use personal messaging.  The reply to your question is that your Uncle Bob and Auntie Marge (my parents) moved to Calgary in 1975, along with Emma Jane Herring (our grandmother. of course).  Nannie died there (in 1976 I believe) and was brought back to Montreal to be buried with Grandad.  Subsequently, my brother Bob (and wife Randi) moved to Calgary in 1976 and my sister Patricia in 1997.  Dad passed away in April 1999, Patricia passed away in June 2009, and Mom passed away in May 2010.  I will try to email you once I get my three posts in!!
