Suffolk Lookup Requests / Re: Lunacy Admissions Index 1902
« on: Wednesday 08 March 17 07:52 GMT (UK)  »

Thank you all for the information. I am still trying to accept the fact that my grandfather died in an Asylum. No other mental illnesses have ever been found in our part of the family. I wonder if he could have been admitted for other causes.

Help, please, to find the cause of  internment  and death of Arthur Soanes, aged 32, in approx. 1902 and probably in Felixstowe, Suffolk.

Many thanks, Rosie29

Help, please, to find the marriage of my grandparents in London between 1892-1896.

Their names were Arthur Soanes, of Felixstowe, and Elizabeth Harris of Lubenham, Leicestershire.

Thank you, Rosie

Further to this topic of almost a year ago, I would like to know why Alice was given the second name of Burgess. Would there be an ancestor whose surname wa Burgess?

Thank you, Rosie

Thank you, Diddymiller and PaulL. Interesting photos. I have never been as far north as Durham but would love to do so one day,

Many thanks to you all for so much help, especially Selden. I am short of time this week but will take this up again shortly. I am doing this for my cousin, Sheila Heeney b. Tomkins, who is Alice's daughter. I know she will be thrilled with your information.

Best wishes,

Rosemarie

I would very grateful for some information on the ancestors of Alice Burgess Brown, who was born in Fatfield, County Durham, 1908, to Isabella (b. Humphrey), and William Brown. All possibly from the same area.

This is all I know about them:

Alice married Charles Tomkins of Lubenham, Leics, in 1937.
William Brown died age 29.
Isabella then married a Mr Dodds.

Thanks in advance for any help,

Thanks once more. Still no sign they were related. Could it be through the Harris family?
