 hi,
      my g/grandfather henry laray came from germany  not on census 1881 but married in waterloo/lpool 1882 then worked bootle fire brigade were he changed his name to waterman must be connection there. died attending a fire on the ss st  ronaus in langton dock sept 30th 1893. i have spent hours trying to find german connection passenger lists or emigration from germany but if you dont know district/village impossible.
cannot find records from bootle fire brigade  possible he put morethan just germany there.

               thanks for your welcome and the information first time on site like this a bit daunting.  two members reseaching my grt/grandfather obviously just going throught census forms so hoping to contact them can give more personal info

i am trying to contact two members " hostile17" and "suzard" who were researching  henry hoopman laray and his family in bootle lancs. henry was my gt/grand father his elderst daughter henrietta my grand mother. hostile 17 says she was adopted , and just hoping i can enlarge our family. her postings were placed 27 may last year.2010
this is my first time on so hope i have protocols right
