Hi David,

There is no name for his father on the birth certificate and I don't know if he was baptised, he was a choir boy in Burnley so there is a possibility there, where would I start to find baptism for 1937

Thank you for that, I did just as you say, she responded to say that her "Pikes" were in Wiltshire and nothing to do with my "Pikes" based 20 miles away in Taunton.

My father was born in the Workhouse in Burnley and his father is not mentioned on his Birth Certificate, do you know how I might be able to find his father without knowing his fathers name at birth.

Nichola, Thank you for looking, Your topic read " Eli PIKE married Sept 1869" and you had a response from johnP-bedford, my mother says that part of my fathers "Pike" family lived near Shepton Mallet and the other part of Pike lived in Taunton which is about 20 miles away from Wiltshire.  Do you have a Richard Pike from about 1817?

Dear JohnP-Bedford, I notice that you wrote to Nichola on Thursday the 5th May (year not sure of) regarding Eli Pike Married Sept 1869 and living in Taunton St James, Somerset, do you have any further details of the person(s) whom may be searching this person as he is my Great Great Grandfather.

My Great Great Grandfather was also Eli Pike, I am through his other Son Harry R Pike who was a Dairy man, how odd that you have a father called Eric and so do I on the same tree lines, my Grandmother was Louisa May Pike b1899 who is the Daughter of Harry R Pike who is the son of Eli, Louisa May married John Taylor abt 1917/18 and had my father:Eric, looks like we might be related!  We live in Keighley which is about 10 miles from Skipton, North Yorkshire, I can be contacted on (*) if you would like to chat further.

Do you have an Eli Pike in your family?  married around Sept 1869? I ask because I think it was you who asked the question on a post in December 2008, if it is you are you related to him as I think he is my Great Great Grandfather, he was married to Mary Jane? and he was a chimney sweep and she was a refreshment stall keeper.  best regards, Jason Taylor 07941 594703
