Cambridgeshire / What does it mean?
« on: Tuesday 08 November 11 16:21 GMT (UK)  »
Hello

I have found a marriage that took place in 1590 in the county of Cambridgeshire and under the heading Place: it has “Ely Diocese Marriage Licences” I have never come across this before on the findmypast website. Can anyone tell me what this might mean?

Cheers mate.

« on: Monday 07 November 11 14:32 GMT (UK)  »
G'day

I'm wondering if someone can look in the Chesterton Parish Registers for an Elizabeth Pettit b 1712 Chesterton and see if you can find a marriage or a death for her? Her father is William Pettit and I believe her mother is a Susan Denny if that helps

Thanks Kindly

LoL very true, he couldn't have been born then, I was looking at his son Johns birth when I typed that. I will fix that in my original post.

Thank you for pointing that out.

Cambridgeshire / looking for a death
« on: Monday 01 August 11 05:18 BST (UK)  »
G’day Fellas

I’m looking for a little help again. I’m trying to find the deaths or anything related to a John Pettit B. 1759 Castle Camps and his wife Mary Pettit. They were married in Burwell but all their children were born in Castle Camps. Their last being twins, Lydia and Staphen B. 1803. After this I can find nothing of John and Mary. I would love to know when and where they died. If anyone has any kind of hint for me it would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

Suffolk / Missing Baptism - PETTIT
« on: Wednesday 27 July 11 05:39 BST (UK)  »
Hello

I know this is a very broad and open ended question but it never hurts to try. I’m looking for a baptism for a William Pettit who I believe would have been born around 1675 give or take a few years. He was married to a Susan Denny in Stowmarket, 1696. I have yet to find a baptism for him. I’m taking a shot to see if anyone else has a clue. I believe he was either born SOMEWHERE in Suffolk or perhaps even Norfolk. It's a long way back but I must try.

Thank you
Snowy
