Armagh / Re: Harvey & McNally in Co. Armagh
« on: Monday 09 March 09 23:29 GMT (UK)  »
Thank you welcome1

Have not been in the website for a while and was very surprised that I had a few replies.

There might be a connection with your McNally and mine.  Since posting the message I have found out that two of Patrick and Rose's children where baptized in Drumintee/Dromintee.

Mary bap. August 12, 1853 to Pat Harvey & Rose McNally. Sps. Pat Hanratty & Bridget Dunn
Peter bap. November 22,1861 to Pat Harvey & Rose McNally.  Sps. Michael & Mary Quinn.

That is all I know.  Not been able to find any more info.

Hi aljepeka,
Thank you for replying. I have had a lot of emails regarding Harvey's this last few years but no connection as yet.  I posted on myirishancestry and got a reply with a list of names corresponding to my gtgradparents Patrick Harvey b. 1826 and Rose Harvey (nee McNally) b. 1831.  The first five children were born in Co. Armagh before they came to England approx. 1863.  The next 6 children were born in Leigh, Lancashire.  The list contains 5 births for Patrick Harvey in Co. Armagh and 1 marriage.  3 births for a Rose McNally and 3 marriages.  No records for Alice b. approx 1853. 8 births for a Mary Harvey.  4 births for a Thomas Harvey.  4 births for a Patrick Harvey jr.  2 births for a Peter Harvey.  Apparentyly these are all on Armagh Ancestry but at 10 eauros a shot it will be very expensive to check every one of these records.  Trying to narrow the search.  Hope you can help

Thank you Hinton.

Sounds interesting and I have already sent Ellen Prescott an email.

I know there is another Prescott in Rainford but it isn't the same family.

« on: Monday 07 August 06 13:43 BST (UK)  »
My Great Uncle John Harvey born 1871 in Lancashire England.

Went to the Yukon Gold Rush in late 1890's. Eventually settled in San Francisco.

Can someone check to see if he is on the 1900 Census for the Yukon.

Looking for anyone descending from John Prescott, born Hindley, moved to Rainford.  Owned the Derby Arms in Rainford for many years in 1880/90's  By 1901 owned a grocers in Church Road in Rainford.  Three members of his family also lived in Church Road.  He had 9 children so surely there is still someone left.

Thanks Christopher for your reply.  The Newry church was just a long shot as on Family Search there was a Patrick Harvey born in Newry with a close birth year and a mother named Rose Harvey

My gt. grandparents were born in Co. Armagh according to the England 1871 Census.  I need their place of birth and marriage but I don't know where in Co. Armagh they are from.

Patrick Harvey and Rose Harvey (nee McNally) were born, married and had their first five children in Co. Armagh.

These are the dates I have.

Patrick Harvey b. 1826
Rose Harvey (nee McNally) b. 1831
Alice Harvey b. 1853 (daughter)
Mary Harvey b. 1854 (daughter)
Thomas Harvey b. 1856 (son)
Patrick Harvey b. 1859 (son)
Peter Harvey b. 1861 (son)

Thank you for your reply aljepeka.  Sorry did not reply sooner but I have been away over the holiday break.

I am getting absolutely knowhere in tracing my ancestors from Ireland, but I live in hope that one day someone will send me an e-mail with the information I am looking for.  I will certainly look up the Harveys  you mention in your e-mail and thank you.
