Wow you guys all do such fantastic work. They are all stunning thank you so much. Thanks Jim for the dating, if the dates are towards the end of the 1890s and even 1900 that would fit with some dates that I have of the people in the photo.

I remember wondering why the post to my Gran was always addressed to E Collins when her name was Theresa until I came to find out that Theresa was her 3rd name her full name was Elizabeth Catherine Theresa. Her sister was always known as Margaret and it was only when she died that I found out her full name was Mary Margaret. That made more sense though as she was named after her mother, so it would have got a bit confusing with 2 Mary's in the house. Quite a lot of my family, particularly the Mary's were known my their middle name's at one time or another. ???

This picture has always been refered to as the 3 grannies picture. The lady at the back is my Great grandmother Mary Agnes Massarotti and the front left is Mary Sarah Shepherd, her mother. The oldest lady, I was told was a French lady in the family. From doing a bit of research I think she may be Mary Sarah’s mother whose married name was Tourle which has some French origins but  I don't think the family were from France. Mary Agnes was married in 1897 when she was 26, I think this photo was taken a couple of years before that. A more accurate date would be nice plus a little touch up with colour  :)

Thank you so much, they are both really lovely. I think I may have narrowed down who she is too. I was looking at a wedding photo that I have and she appears to be in the front. I know that picture was from 1897 as it's the wedding of my great grandmother. I think the unknown girl is one of her sisters. I will post that photo when I can get around to scanning it as at the moment I only have a bad photocopy on this computer and it is difficult to see as she was wearing a very light colour. But for a bit of fun I have put my face in one of my 2005 wedding photos next to hers to look for family resemblance. I think I have the family nose lol.

Thank you everyone for your comments and help. I really love this photo too I think it'svery beautiful I just wish I knew which family member of mine she is. I was left a box of photos by my father when he died, which he had been left by his mother and never really gone through. I haven't found her in any other photos, yet so narrowing it down to who she might be was a little difficult. The date may help though. As to the restoration I hadn't really thought about it before, but if someone wants to try it would be greatly appreciated.

 :)

Thank you

thank you. I was leaning toward the 1902 wedding date I had, so that is probably correct. The picture was a photocopy as I couldn't get it through my rather small scanner hence the poor quality of the photo.

Hello Everyone
I am new to this site and love what is happening here. i think this will become a favourite very soon. I have a wedding photo from early 1900's but not sure of exact date could anybody help me. It could be 1902 or 1907 but may be later. Unfortunaletly I only have a photocopy at present but the original is mounted on quite thick card and has the photographic studio Merriman and Rumbold, Southall Green printed on the front, nothing on the back.
