During WWII my father served in the 461Bty/85th field/Mountain regt. R.A in Iraq/Persia. Records show an association with the 5 Indian Division and 21 Indian Corps. Later went on to Italy. Would anyone know what action took place in Iraq/Persia. Or was it simply to ensure Irag stayed on the right side.

Durham / Alfred PIPE

Looking for information on Alfred PIPE, On the death certificate of his wife Elizabeth in 1925 he was shown as living Tenth St Easington, this was later changed to Butler St.Also at this address was his daughter Lilian who married George Reed in 1938. Alfred seams to have disappeared after this date.Have not found him on BMD's. Has anyone come across him

Trying to find any infomation on the decendants of William Faulkner and Elizabeth. The children were
Walter born Chasetown abt 1881
William born Chasetown abt 1884
John born Chasetown abt 1889
Minni B born Chastown abt 1891
Thomas born Walsall wood abt 1893
Albert born Walsall Wood abt 1896
Arthur born Walsall Wood abt 1889
So far the only info I have on them is from the 1901 census showing them at Lichfield Rd Walsall Wood
Anyone know of any of their descendants?

I have an interest in Sproats of Northumberland, especially from the Netherwitton, Morpeth area. Whilst Lowingham Sproat is not connected to my family I have some info which may be of use to you.
Lowingham Sproat was the 5th son of Robert and Mary Sproat born about 1896 at Cleator Moor Cumbria. he was married to Jess Wood abt 1922. He had one daughter Margaret Ann.
Kelly's Directory of Newcastle 1950 shows :- Sproat L. district supt. British Railways (NER) Central Station Neville St. Newcastle 1.
Also lists Sproat, Lowingham 4 Fenwick Ter. 2 Jesmond 219.
Lowingham died about 1975
His daughter ( who supplied me with this information) died 16th July 2002. Her death notice was in the "Evening Chronicle" 20th July. It was also listed in the London Gazette 6 Dec 2002.
