« on: Thursday 14 July 11 00:09 BST (UK)  »
Greetings,
I have been busy with my family tree "Creighton"on and off for a long while now, and just by chance came across this web site, and got very excited, having read your post. the names Slater, Thomas Alfred Archibald Creighton, Alfred Archibald William Creighton, all ring a bell! his son Vernon Archibald Creighton as far as I know was killed in the great war, his brother was my Grand father Leslie Wallis Creighton, and his son (my late father was Vernon Leslie Creighton) I know my grand father was born in Bloemfontein. to date I have not been able to get further the my grand father, I do hope that this will pan out, and look forward to further exchange of info.
Regards
Les.

Hello, I am a new member from South Africa.  I am a descendant of the Dalls and can add the following if you are still searching. As stated John Wesley Dall (son of Robert Dall an early methodist preacher and Margaret Kayll) married Elizabeth Banning.  They had a son James Kayll Dall (amongst other children)who married Margaret Holme Slater in dec 1853.  They had 11 children.  The family moved to the Cape Colony in 1875 where James became head master of the Graaff Reinet college.  They later moved to Fort Beaufort.  One of their daughters Emily Francis married a Thomas Alfred William Creighton (Son of Alfred Archibald Creighton and Sarah Elizabeth Clarke).  One of their sons Reginald was my father.  The Creightons originated in Scotland and moved to Lancashire where the Clarkes seem to have originated. (I am still trying to trace this branch.
I have quite a lot of other information.
Hope to hear from you.
Denis
