The Comers I'm related to are George and Mary Ann Comer whos children were
George Leonard b 1877( my gr grandfather)
Flora Jane b 1879
Verney b 1882
Leonard Rumsam b 1885

Mary Grace b 1890
Anna Gladys b 1892
Lucinda b 1894
Dorothy b 1895
Robert b 1897
Francis Cyril b 1900
I would like to find out more about George Leonard he married Nessie Birch. Would like to know what he did for a job, where he moved around etc.

According to the Auckland City Library there was a George Comer arrived in Auckland in Jan 1880, cant find any other info. The Comers that arrived in 1884 on the Doric are not the Comers that I have a connection with.

As far as I know he was born in Devon.

Thanks Janette, I have never found a listing for any of them coming into the country. I am surprised that the 3 children are not listed ie. George, Flora Jane and Virney.

George and Mary Ann are buried at Waikaraka Cemetary. I didn't know the grave was marked, will have to visit when next in Auckland.

I am researching George Comer and Mary Ann Rumsom Comer who came to NZ with their 3 eldest children in 1884 on the Doric from Portsmouth Eng. George was a miner and went to Thames to work for his brother Robert. Any info on George and his family would be appreciated.
