Canada Lookup Request / Re: Maude Jones Quigley
« on: Wednesday 04 January 12 20:07 GMT (UK)  »
Hi Lisa. I wanted to let you know I found my Grandmother Maude Jones Quigley. I was determined to find her, and I finally did. She died April 14, 1937 in Los Angeles. I have already received her death certificate, and found her grave. A volunteer at find a grave has taken and posted a picture for me. Alot of answers came along with finding her, it is a good feeling. Thank you for being part of my journey to meet her. I hope 2012 is a good year for you. Sherry

Canada / Maude Jones Quigley

Can someone please help me. I am in search for my grandmother, Maude Jones Quigley. She died when my Father Earl Quigley was 7 or 8 years old. Story is told she was French Canadian Indian and possibly a orphan. I have found her in 1930 census Los Angeles, same year my dad was born. I can not find any record of her birth, her marriage to my grandfather Frank Quigley or her death. I found where she may of traveled 1924 from Canada to Seattle. I am hoping someone in Canada can help me. I am pretty sure she was born in 1899, Canada E., that is what she put on the census. My dad died when I was a young teen, so there were a lot of unanswered questions. I do know he had a lot of pain not ever knowing about his mother. I too feel a great loss, I feel I owe it to her to make her memory part of my life. Thank you.

This was the 1920 census. Four years before Frank and Maude married. If I did mention 1904 marriage that was a mistake. I really think he married Anolda Iverson in 1910, baby was born in 1909. When he enlisted in Canadian Army 1915 he said wife's address unknown, probably he and Anolda had separated. Possibly he met Maude when visiting his sister. I do not have Frank's obit. How do I obtain it? Do I contact Seattle library s?

Hi Lisa. I wanted to ask for your opinion. I started thinking about Franks sign up into the Canadian Army. I took his sisters name Katherine Manning (from the form) and did a search on it, I found 1920 census in Iowa. I then looked at neighbors, Eliza Foster had a maid Maude Jones, DOB 1897 age 23. She put place of birth Iowa, parents born United States of America. Do you think this could be my Maude Jones? I could not find any other Maudes born that year in Iowa. Probably a needle in a haystack. What would you think? Thank you for brain storming with me.
