Hi, I'm also trying to PM someone, having newly joined and immediately found the person I was looking for. I don't want to make irritating posts just to get my three posts in, so can I use this thread to 'get qualified'?

Hi,
I hope you don't mind me e-mailing you, but I was hoping that you may be able to help my gran!
My gran, Gladys Hill nee Sparham, married Roland Hill in 1936, and I think her bridesmaid Mable Page (then Weston) may be your aunt. Gran met Mable when they both worked at the elastic factory, and Gran would take her lunch back to Mabel's house, where Mabel's mum would give them both a cup of tea!
Gran had kept in contact with Mabel over the years, mainly through Christmas cards, and also the occasional phone call, but has not heard from her for a couple of years or so.
A Google search for 'Mabel Page' led me to this website, and when I read out the details I found in the varios posts, Gran was sure they refered to 'her' Mabel.
Gran is sad that after all these years of staying in touch, she doesn't know what has happened to her (although of course she fears that she has passed away). I realise that the posts were made in 2008, but I wonder if you would be prepared to tell us what the situation is with your aunt?
