Gloucestershire / Zion Road??
« on: Saturday 07 February 09 20:09 GMT (UK)  »
I've been researching my husband's family (Chapman) in the 1911 census.  It lists them as living at 2 Cottage Place, Zion Road, Off Stapleton Road Bristol.  We've looked on a map but are unable to locate it.  Does anyone know if it still exists or if it's now known as something else?

Thanx

Tipperary / Chapmans of Roscrea, advice please
« on: Tuesday 24 October 06 09:42 BST (UK)  »
Hi

I've just discovered that my husband's Grt Grandfather John Bunyan Chapman 1857 was born in Roscrea, I'm pretty sure that he married his wife Kate there, even though she was born in Bristol as their first son William was also born in Roscrea.

Could anyone advise on how I go about obtaining birth and marriage certificates?

I'm really stumped on how to research Irish ancestry!  ???

Many Thanks in advance

Hi Bennett,

I do think there is a connection its finding it  ???  You could send for William's parents marriage certificate this would give you the names of their fathers.

I've requested certificates a couple of times for that little bit of extra info  ;)

Do you use GenesReunited?  I have made a couple of connections through there.  I haven't had chance to look for Webber connections yet.

I'd be happy to help if you decide to request the certificate  ;D

Of course you may have all this info.  I'll try and find out what William's mothers name was.

Still no connection yet  ;)

P.S. William's mother's maiden name was Hobbs she married his father in June 1853 Wiliton.

In the 1881 census he lived with his wife and 5 children at:- 8 Lower Folly, St Decumans Watchet, Somerset.  They had another child but he was living with his grandparents at the time of the census.

I'm sure there is a connection somewhere, its finding it  ;)

Hi Bennett,

Unfortunately I can't help you with your questions but I have just discovered the Webber family from St Decumans in my family tree  :)
I would be really interested to know who your G. G. Grandparents were?

Gilbert Webber 1846 was married to a Mary Ann Bryant 1847 who was the sister of my Grt Grt Grandmother Harriet Bryant 1850 who married Thomas Vickery 1850 long winded but I got there  ;)

Good Luck in your search

Kim
