Written to Cumbria bdm offices, they replied that there was no match for William O'Neil. The registrar stated that it could have been the last place William remembered when he was a young child. The marriage certificate does not give an occupation for Andrew. Ship's record shows he was born in Cork, but another ships record shows Maryport. Sorry for the delay, clyde.

looking for my great .granfather william o'neil born 1851 cork. he was married in swansea in 1871  he was a merchant seaman. is fathers name was andrew o'neil .william in the 1881 census is born in maryport  but there is no record of it .mariners ships records 1867 born cork. any info would be appreciated. clyde.

Found in Glamorgan archives in ship records sailed 1867 to neath s.wales but says he was born in Cork Ireland. The next ship record found it says he was born in Maryport Cumberland.  Clyde

Had info from 1881 census Carmarthenshire, William got married in 1871 in Swansea, he married Catherine Kirby.

Looking for the birth of my great grandfather William O'Neil born 1851, Maryport, Cumberland. He was amerchant seaman, his fathers name was Andrew O'Neil Don't know where he was born. Any info would be appreciated.

Thank you for the reply, according to the family Susan ran off with an islander. So thats why Alfred and the children moved off the island to Bridgewater as family says.

looking for the death of susan watts she married alfred curwood bet 1861 -1868 in jersey 1861 census winsor cottages st helier 1871 census 10 seaton place st helier occupation butchers wife 6 children all born st helier mary eliza bessie alfred thomas james charles abraham james charles  alfred left with the children to bridgwater alfred died in 1901  age 77

Looking for the death of my great grandfather William O'Neil. Born 1851 Maryport Cumberland. Married Catherine Kirby in Swansea 1871. 1881 census in llanelli. My grandfather Joseph O'Neil born 1889 in 1891 census Catherine is a widow. William was a merchant seaman. Any information would be appreciated.
