Thanks eileen these facts are definitely very helpful.  I had found the Hillocks and have been able to trace them back to scotland in 1861.  Thomas Quinn was proving to be a bit more tricky to find.  You didnt by any chance see or find out if he had any siblings?

What Quinns are you looking for in DPK?  Are they related in any way to my quinns?

Again thanks for the info,

Donna

Hi

I have only started researching my family tree.

I'm looking for anyone who knowsanything about the Quinn family in Shrigley or Killyleagh. Myg grandfather was Thomas Quinn who D1970 in Killyleagh and was married to Mary nee Hillock from belfast.

I have searched the 1901 and 1911 census and have found entries for the family in Shrigley but no father listed on either.  I'm not even sure that i have the right Quinns as relatives have told me that Thomas only had 1 sister but i have found a lot more.

Hi,  I knew the dates were wrong but the names are too much of a coincidence dont you think?  I cant trace Patrick's father but his mother was born in Armagh about 1836.  On the census she is listed as a widow.

I will pm you my address

Hi,

I think I may have a connection to the Hillocks you are looking for.  Here is the link for the 1901 census of Ireland which shows Patrick Hillock married to Annie Hillock with James, Mary and Isabella their children living in Marchioness street in Belfast.  Patrick was born in Glasgow in around 1864

http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1901/Antrim/Falls/Marchioness_Street/951874/

Patrick's mother is also called Isabella Hillock and in 1901 and 1911 is living in Albert Street, Belfast.

Mary Quinn nee Hillock is my great grandmother and she died in 1969 in Killyleagh  Co Down.

Do you think we are related?  Im new to all this searching but would love to hear from pssible distant relatives.
