Hi I have been trying to find out more information relating to my mother who was born at the home in Park Road North, Bedford in October 1932. I have made enquiries with Bedford archives and they have directed me to St. Albans Diocese. Apparently there are records to indicate that my mother was baptised at St. Martins Church on 11th November 1932 and also vaccination papers dated 1st February 1933. All of this information was given to me by Bedford archives by email and I paid online so it was all very painless. Problem is I still have no idea what happened to my mother after she had been vaccinated. I am waiting to find out from st. Albans Diocese if they can help me find out if my mother was officially fostered and if so who with. If anyone else has any information relating to what happened to babies and their mothers during this very traumatic time I'd be very grateful.
