Lancashire / Re: My Hallam Family

I have some Hallams in my tree. Think they came from Macclesfield but ended up in Skelmersdale, Lancashire. Where they married one of my female ancestors (surname Pye) and had children born there. Attached a screenshot of my Ancestry tree.

Hi Becky,
So sorry for the late reply, just seen your message after sorting out my emails.
Yes I think we do have a match.
This Davies line is my husbands side. I also have them on my mums side but they are in Chester.
Haven't researched for a while but getting back into it and with this corona virus hoping to have plenty of time to get sorted out.

Hope to hear from you soon

Susan

Hi
What date was your Howell born?
I have a Howell DAVIES b 1840 Cilrhedyn, Carmathenshire. He is married to Mary b 1840, Trelech.
Their children were
Thomas
Philip
Rosamond
Anne
John
Joseph
Davis
Gwynne
Mary
Elizabeth
and my link Howell
this is a new area for me so forgive the vagueness.
Howell b 1840 was a Farmer, and his father Thomas b 1815, Trelech, was also a farmer.

Thomas' farm on the 1851 was 'Glasfryn' Abernant, Conwil, Carmarthenshire
Howell on the 1891 is at 'Danygraig' Mydrim, Carmathenshire.

Hope to hear from you soon

Best Regards

Hi Larissa

Getting a bit more sorted out but doubt if we willever be straight. Now need a bigger house, bought this on with just me, John and baby Jack. We are now 5 ! and 2 houses worth of furniture and stuff crammed into one house.

UPDATE on the DAVIES'
Found them on the 1911 census, says he was born in Mydrim, Carmarthenshire !
I know there are a lot of DAVIES' in Wales but 2 Howell's father and son born the same years as mine?
Then got in touch with a cousin of my F-in-L not spoken to before, she has a small family bible and it says in there he was born in Mydrim.
Found him in Carmathen, his father Howell  b 1840, Kilrherdin or Cirherdin. farmer the same.
Mother Mary b 1840, Trelech, Carmarthen.

Siblings
Thomas 1864
Philip 1865
Rosamond 1867
Anne 1870
John 1871
Joseph 1873
Davis 1874
Gwynne 1875
Mary 1878
Elizabeth 1880
and my Howell 1883 :o)

Luckily only got Howell's birth cert from Bridgend wrong, no wonder I couldn't get any further.
got most of the census returns.
Will start plodding through.
Howell's mum's family apparently lived at Croft House, Bridgend, so Howell jnr has moved at some point.
Hope to speak to you soon.

Since the posting I last put on we have relocated from Dubai back to UK and had a baby, so been a bit busy.
Researching hasn't had a look in.
Going to go through my research I can find (lots still in boxes in the garage)

John Morgan Davies (my husband's Grandad Jack) had a son John Michael Davies (my Fatherin-law).
Husband is called John Michael as well and my son aged 7 is Jack Morgan Davies. Keeping the naming tradition alive !!

Thank you all for your replies  ;D
Will look at the sites and try again to find them.
Thought with Howell as a name it would be easier to find, how wrong you can be in Genealogy !!
Will get back to you, you are all so helpful.

Best Regards
Susan
