Hi Rathmore,
No.
The site belongs to Brian Anton.
I helped him with the McClure side of the Colhoun genealogy.
His research in this blog slotted perfectly into the Findrum McClure pedigree.

Cheers
Jack

Thanks Rathmore,
the people i am looking for pre date the official records. Maybe i'l get lucky with church records but nothing yet. Also the name William Colhoun seems to be pretty common around co. Donegal pre 1800.

cheers
Jack.

Thanks Rathmore,
Findrum is the townland.
the website is a winner.
Got all the McClure threads.
The big drill down on the Colhouns has not been on my radar until recently.
Will have another look.

Cheers
Jack.

Donegal / William Colhoun Born 1777
« on: Monday 19 May 25 07:52 BST (UK)  »
 Hello Troops,
Looking for the ancestors of William Colhoun. He married into the Findrum McClure family.
Catherine McClure.b.1774Letterkenny.d.29.12.1847.Green Cottage.Labbadish. mc.1797.Donegal.William Colhoun .b.1777.[Labbadish?]d.10.4.1823.Green Cottage,Labbadish. BuriedKilmacrennan.[FAG].
Plenty of information on lots of Colhoun, Calhoun, Colquoun in Counties Donegal and Tyrone.
But after giving the search button a pounding on this and other sites all i have found is
unknown Colhoun .b.1742   .

Any clues - Aghadowey or kiltaglassen?

Cheers
Jack.

PS - Labberdish is just next to Corke[Corkough] and several earlier threads indicate the Colhouns have an affinity for the area. But no obvious links between William and the earlier threads.

Further update -
Recent research by Brian Anton has directly led to the addition of the Conyngham/Colhoun link to the Findrum McClure line -
Francis Mcclure of Findrum mc.August.1771.Prudence Conyngham [parentsGustavus Conyngham of Larganreagh.b.1696.d.1760.m. Mary Conyngham [GFather-Gabriel Conyngham].
Their daughter -
Catherine McClure.b.1774 Letterkenny.d.29.12.1847.Green Cottage.Labbadish. mc.1797  William Colhoun .b.1777.[Labbadish?]d.10.4.1823.Green Cottage,Labbadish.BuriedKilmacrennan.[FAG].

This research was the catalyst for the Dill link being found thru the swapping of information via a number of McClure pundits. The Dill brothers John and Marcus both married McClure sisters Susan/Susannah & Mary. Their father was Richard McClure and his father was Andrew McClure.

Now to find the paper link for the Cloghroe McClure to the Findrum McClure as  proved by DNA.
Samuel McClure - 1779 Will is as far back as we can get. His father and/or grand father could be Charles McClure, with several possibiliies in the Findrum line - but no hints yet!!
Any clues out there?

Cheers
Jack

Interesting thread as the following names appear in my Gilbert and Cecil research of this area -  Thomas, Lewis, Jones, Rees, Morgan, Lloyd & Powell.
If you have any Gilbert or Cecil attachments please PM me as they may or may not have anything to do with Sarah Phillips.

Cheers
Jack Gee
interestingly one of our Cecil researchers is a Phillips.
