Im looking for family conected with peter kelly born County Kildare 1907, he left Ireland to go to canada, but returned to settle in Fulham london were he Married Peggy Edwards and had 13 children Eldest called Patrick then Peter Susan Mitchell Edward Anne Barbra Kevin and Jean, If you have any conection to his life and work in Ireland it would be helpful

I added the siblings to the Kelly tree.

Its helpful to spell out nicknames like "Peggy" as Margaret.

To Sarah Kelly and Kevin Kelly

I am related to Margaret (Kelly) Leigh and William Leigh1.  William1 is my grandfather's first cousin.  William had children named Bridget, William2, Patrick E, James (deceased), and Matthew2 who is married to Lily.

William Leigh1 who married Margaret had siblings Edward, Esther, Matthew, Bridget, James J2, Ellen or Nellie, John, Patrick, Christina, Mary Kate, and Elizabeth.  Their parents were James1 Leigh and Eliza Byrne.  James and Eliza are on the 1901/1911 census for Rahoonbeak, Inchaquire.  James is my great-grandfather John Leigh's brother.

I have connected to Leigh relatives in Michigan who are related to James2.  James2 lived with an Uncle in Michigan Mathew1 Leigh who I have found out lived with his aunt Margaret (Leigh) Eardly.

I have plotted my Leigh family and the Kelly connection on my Ancestry.com tree.

There is a John Kelly living with my grandparents at their home in Yonkers, NY, USA on the 1940 census. A relation?

I am researching the Leigh family of Inchaquire and have just connected via email with the son of a Matt Leigh via email. Is Matt's wife's name Lily?  If so, we are looking at the same family.  Matt had a brother James and his father was William Leigh.  Would your Maragaret Kelly be William Leigh's wife?  Matt and Lily and their son are dairy farmers.

Wicklow / Re: Daniel Kennedy b. 1832 in Little Bray

I just looked up my great grandmother's father Denis Nugent who married Maria (Latin for Mary)Kennedy in Bray, Wicklow, Ireland on 17 Jan 1853.  Denis was possibly living in nearby Ballinteskin, Kilmacanogue, Wicklow which is the marriage address of his daughter Mary Anne (Marianna) Nugent b.1856 who married John William Leigh b. 1854 of Blackrath, Kildare.  John William and Mary Anne (Nugent) Leigh raised several children out of a property called Ballybawn House located on Old Long Hill Rd outside of Kilmacanogue.  Maria Kennedy Nugent may have a sister or cousin named Letitia Kennedy who married a William Leigh around 1850 who is the father and mother of John William Leigh making John and his wife Mary Anne possible first cousins.  Denis' wedding was witnessed by Maria Nugent (a sister?) and Stephen Brien.  John and Mary Ann's wedding ws witness by a John Kerthly(sp?)

Wicklow / Ballybawn House, Kilmacanogue, Wicklow
« on: Sunday 12 June 11 22:33 BST (UK)  »
I have some birth information and 1930's photograph's of the Ballybawn House on Old Long Hill Road where at least 5 of my grandfather's older siblings were born.  A Thomas Kavanagh is identified as a godparent on one of the sibling's birth certificates and Ann Nugent was on another. My great grandfather John Leigh of Blackrath, Kildare married Mary Ann (Marianna) Nugent of Ballinteskin, Kilmacanogue, Wicklow in 1877.  His parents were William Leigh and Letitia Kennedy and her parents were Denis Nugent and Maria (Latin version of Mary) Kennedy. I suspect Maria and Letitia are sisters.  The Leigh's and Nugent's appear to be tenant farmers and possibly worked at nearby Powerscourt.  I would appreciate any family information on the history of the Ballybawn House, the Kavanagh's, Nugent's, or Leigh's.  A recent real estate listing for the Ballybawn House indicated that Maude Gonne stayed there during the Troubles. Her husband John may have beenrelated to the Ballybawn House owners.  The photo of the Ballybawn House circa 1934 is a close match to the current house.
