Lincolnshire / Finding answers in Lincoln
« on: Saturday 20 August 11 15:01 BST (UK)  »
Hi any Kemp, Campe or Camps out there?
I am looking for any answers about my line. I have a Ralph Kemp 1637-1725, Cripplegate, son of Jeremie Campe or Jeremiah Camp b.1605 Crowle, Lincoln and married Joyce Burton in 1628. His father I believe is Jarman Camp 1573-1616 and married Alis Greenbanke in 1593 Crowle, Lincoln. My Kemp line changes with Ralph who lived in London to Camp or Campe and has become quite challenging. Firstly, is this possible to have spelling changes? Secondly, is it possible to go back any further and find how long the Kemps, Campes or Camps lived in Lincolnshire?

London and Middlesex / Kemp, London

I'm not quite sure how all this works with all the different areas but I want to put this out there hoping someone can help me. I am tracing my Kemp line back and I have lots of information especially around the time of the Great Fire of London in 1666. I have a Ralph Kemp born in London 1637 and his father Jeremiah born in 1605 probably in Lincolnshire. I was hoping that a book I was reading titled 'A General History of the Kemp and Kempe Families in Great Britain' would give me all the answers but I found it stops with Ralph. All my searching stops because I think the name was originally Camp and not Kemp. Is there anyone who could point me in the right direction?

Hi, I am giving this a go wanting to find the right Samuel Chestnut. Where in Ireland he was born? I believe he was born around 1843 and married Georgina Mitchell over in Scotland. All my Irish side are so hard to find, like Cahill. I hope there is someone who can help.
