I was born at the nursing home on Castle Hill and lived in east street at the market street end at no.1 the house had a verandah covered in a climber with bright orange trumpets it was quite a sight in the summer. I went to east street for a while before going to elmslie on castle hill ,I knew miss beare she was the head then.my mother often spoke of her friend joan beare a little girl who died suddenly they would play together and go to tea my mother was very upset when joan died , Ithink you must be the same family.very best wishes  Imogen

yes mrs stevens was there when i was and miss westlake took over just before i left was miss gill the frengh teacher there when you were she was there a good number of years.i attended sybil bennetdance school on the bath road i went there every day after school.la roach had some very good dancers did you know marion astell she was one of there stars and ethel bull who i believe took the school over its great to reminisce hope i am not prattling on to much. was it abiam who had the interest in east street school

 my mother was born in 1912 and went to east street school the family name was wheeler and they lived in east street garden cottages were at bottom of east street
