Don't know what happened there, as i was saying it could have been later than 1911 when they moved to Marlborough St. I am fasinated by all the different things that 4 Brunswick st was, although i love the Lunitic Asylum :)
What was The North Dublin Union about? also what is Roscommon GRO?
Once again thanks so much for all your help it is starting to get more interesting. Is there a website that shows these buildings in 1911/12?

Hi Dudley, Obbie, Taidquest and Shanew147. Thanks very much for all the info, it was very interesting. Unfortunately i don't have any birth or marriage certificates so i have no idea about occupation, religion i am presuming would be catholic as my parents were married in a church and i was baptized.
Maybe it was quite a bit later than 1911 that they moved to 4

Hi thanks for replying so quickly.
My grandad wrote me a letter 2 weeks before he died and told me this is were he was born and lived. I am in Australia and came out here in 1974 aged 14 so i wasn't interested in family stuff then, it was only has i got older and my uncle started doing my dads side of the family and asked me to get some info on my mums side that i wrote and asked for some facts and as i said i got the letter just in time. My mum died when i was 5yrs so i have no info or paperwork. I posted on the Byrne Genealogy site a few years ago and Robert Hanarhan gave me all the info about the marriage date, he said he was doing his family tree and was used to looking up websites and as he lived in Ireland i presumed it was easier for him.I have just been going along with that as he seemed to know what he was talking about, but now you have put doubt about that date in my mind,it could have been later which would make sense as to why i can't find them together on the 1911 census.
Guess i will have to start looking for later dates now:(
Thank you for your help and for pointing that out to me.
Regards. Mary

Hi all i am wondering if anyone can help? i have been on the 1911 Irish Census and cannot find my great grand parents James Byrne and Christina Kelly who i presume married in 1905. Family search found 4 couples who married at this period in Dublin North, also my grandad was born James Joseph Byrne on 22/07/ 1912 in Dublin at 4 North Brunswick St, then lived at 4 Marlborough St, so i would have thought that at the time of the census they would have been in Ireland.
A very helpful guy sent me this info on Byrne's Genealogy but how do i know which couple are my great grand parents? He also said that a Christina Byrne was born in 1911 and died 1914 i Dublin North.
My grandad James Joseph must of left Ireland in his 20's as he married in Glasgow in 1935 to Flora Anderson Robinson.
Thanks for any help it will be much appreciated.
Mary
