This site has the roll of honour on Farcet War MemorialThank you I think my questions have all been answered thanks to you. My Grandad had 12 brothers and sisters and 2 served in the war. 1 made it home and one didn't. From your link I can now see that John Thomas French was the brother killed and Harold must have made it home, I always thought it was the other way round. It cannot be another John French, i'm pretty sure of that, so thank you for your help, i'm really grateful.xxxxxx

Unfortunately Harold isn't on it but a possible brother may be.
Hi Michelle and welcome to rootschat. Do you or anyone in the family have his WW1 medals - these will have his army number and regiment engraved round the edge of each medal. Do you have any idea when or where he died in battle? Did Harold have a middle name? Sorry to bombard you with questions but every little helps!Thank you for that, we don't have anything i'm afraid, he did not have a middle name according to the 1901 census. I'm afraid I do not know where he died either. I'm not alot of help i'm afraid!
