Family History Beginners Board / Re: Llewellyn

Here I am many years later.   I have just come across in the Probate Calendar of England & Wales the notice of probate of my ggreat aunt Violet Mary LLewellyn (nee Plunkett) who died on 14 August 1920 nine months after her marriage to Frederick Llewellyn.  I guess she may have died in childbirth.  If she did, the baby must have died too She left £4,128.   I would like to have a look at her will to see if it all was left to her husband.  Not sure yet how to go about that.

Hi, Thank you for sending me that info.  I, in fact, knew nothing about the Landon family until just recently.  I am about to go walking in Spain for ten days, but will have a good look at what you sent me and write back to  you then.  Many thanks again, Deeni

Re: Plunketts at Earlscliffe Howth.
You sent me info on my g.grandfather living there around 1900 with lovely photo.  Just to say that I was walking on the hill of Howth last week and stopped to chat to a lady walking her dogs.  It turned out that she was Mrs Robson who lives in Earlscliffe.  She invited me over and showed me around the gardens etc.  A lovely lady. What a coincidence.  Thanks to  you for sending me the information and link to Earlscliffe. Deeni

Thanks.  That's sad, it looks as if she died within the year of marriage.  Apart from my grandmother, Monica, none of Violet's six siblings, apart from one unmarried daughter, had children.  One sister was drowned when the SS Leinster was torpedoed by the Germans in 1919.

I have a copy of Oliver Charles will.  He mentions his children: Charles Frances Purcell; Ernest Oliver Plunkett; Pelham Arthur Stanley Plunkett; Claude Ralph Allen Plunkett; Ethel Olive Plunkett;  Mabel Evelyn Plunkett and Emma Norah  Plunkett.  However on his death certificate it mentions the presence of his son, Herbert Plunkett.  Did he have 8 children? And why is he not mentioned in the will?   Unless of course he uses another name.

Norah, you are a descendant of Emma (the youngest?)and it seems Kerry is a descendant of Emma's as well. And Jane, you are a descendant of Charles (the eldest?). Iwonder if any other 2nd cousins will turn up.

I don't know much more about Oliver's side of the family, but I'd be happy to  find out birth dates if necessary as I presume they were all born in Dublin.
I did have a look  at his address, Springfield in Leixlip.  A lovely house  that is now a hotel.  Leixlip is a lovely village (small town) close to Dublin.
