I have Collins in my family too. John and Ellen Collins from Midleeton (?spelling of place) came to Australia about 1880's had one daughter at the time May, Josephine Benedict (Jo) was born not long after arriving, she was my maternal grandmother, Ellen Therese was the next child and the last was known as Madge not too sure of her full name.
Family story has it that Ellen was adopted by the Collins family as a child
and that she had Red hair know nothing else of her or John prior their leaving for Australia. Does this ring any bells with anyone?
