Glamorganshire / Re: Bevan family in Gower

Hi
I'm very new at using this site and looking at my family history but I think you have the family bible and photo album of my great grandmother Mary Bevan born 1845 and her siblings John, Samuel, James, etc. The photo of Francis and Mary Bevan (Grandma and Grandpa, Oxwich Castle) are undoubtedly my Grandad's mother and father.  My Grandad was Frederick Bevan, born 1886, 9th child of 11 children, who were brought up in Oxwich Castle.  My father and his sister would be very interested in any information or photos you could share with us.  Thank you.

Glamorganshire / Frederick Bevan from Oxwich Castle, The Gower

Happened upon this site by putting Fred Bevan in Google.  Very interested in contacting NormanBev who wrote on this site October 09, looking for his grandfather, Fred Bevan, possibly from Oxwich Castle.  Fred Bevan from Oxwich Castle was my grandfather, and the information left by Lee ties in completely with our known family history (Great Grandparents, Francis & Mary Bevan - 11 children). NormanBev was using the chat room from South Africa and believed his grandfather, Fred Bevan emigrated in 1915.  My grandfather did go to South Africa but came back and married my grandmother.  I do not know how he got to South Africa.  NormanBev suggested his relative went on HMS Defence. It is possible that they are one and the same man, but if NormanBev's grandfather remained in South Africa then they are not.

Can anyone help me contact NormanBev please and find out what he discovered. It is possible he is a long lost uncle, but it is also possible his Fred Bevan didn't come from Oxwich Castle at all.  Thank you.
