Does anyone have access to the marriage register for Stoke Damarel and would be willing to check something for me please?

I'm looking for the marriage of John Tickel to Sarah Hodge 29 Jan 1828.  I am particularly interested in the names of Johns parents as I'm finding him a little difficult to trace.

Hi everyone,

Does anyone know if it is possible to view the original marriage banns for Clifton Hampden?

I know that William Witchelow married Sarah Gibbons on 20 Sept 1755, this has been confirmed for me.  However, I do not know where William comes from as he was not born in Clifton Hampden.

The name Witchelow always varies in spelling but I was thinking if it was possible to view the original banns I might be able to use his fathers christian name and Williams age at the time of marriage to trace him back, that is if banns even existed at this time.

I need some help please 

Would someone be able to look at the Clifton Hampden records for me please.

I have a William Witchelow (spelling always varies) who married Sarah Gibbons 20 Sep 1755 in Clifton Hampden.  Someone has already very kindly confirmed this for me.

Does this marriage record state his age at the time or occupation, anything?

My problem is I have no idea who he is as he was not born in CH, where did he come from?  I know that there are many Whicheloes scattered across Oxon & Berks and they seem to move around quite a lot.

The nearest one I can find was born 1723 in Englefield, but that would make him 32yrs at time of marriage.  I just feel this is a little old to be getting married especially back then.

Hi everyone,

I was wondering if somebody would be able to look up the children of William Whichelow (or variant) and Martha Perrin, who I believe married in 1816 Ipsden.

They will be in the Stoke Row/Checkendon area.  This is what I know so far.....



William  1821  Checkendon

Emma  1834  Stoke Row

James  1834  Stoke Row


I just find it hard to believe they only had 3 children when there is such a big gap between William and Emma.  Also I think James may have been born a few years before his baptism.

Any help would be greatly appreciated and if anybody comes across any other Whichelow in Oxon or Berks I would be really interested to hear from you as the records for these areas seem to be a bit difficult to get hold of online.
