This is fantastic – talk about first time lucky- I have never posted on Roots Chat before! So to have received such a wealth of information (I followed the links to your website) is quite overwhelming!
Thank you for the photo of Mabel’s final resting place how kind to take flowers. I have attached a photo of her parent’s, John & Elizabeth’s, gravestone which, like you, I took on a visit to Appledore.
I have a lot of information about the Kenwards if you are interested.

I am researching my great grand aunt Mabel Mayne nee Kenward and she married a Hugh McGuire at Bideford, Devon in 1904. On the Marriage Certificate He is described as a 39 year old widower, a sailor, and his father's name was Jeremiah.
Could this possibly your grandfather? I would love to know what you think.
