Clare / Re: O'Loughlin 1829 birth LOOK UP
« on: Monday 06 November 06 21:20 GMT (UK)  »
Hi all ,  I too have been searching for O'Loughlins with no luck.  It is thought that my GG Grandfather John O'Loughlin lived around Clare somewhere although he was born in Scotland.   He left for the USA as a small child between 5-10 years of age at my guess.  He came to the USA with another brother and possibly an uncle.  No luck with them either since I can not find their names.  I do know one younger brother whom may have come to the US later than John was Archibald.  John was born in 1827 and Archibald 1838.  Archibalds' marriage record indicates his parents may have been Thomas O'Loughlin and Mary Haley.  No luck there either.  Any chance we could be some of the same O'Loughlins?  I am grasping at straws.  I am beginning to feel like an alien.   ANY suggestions from anyone appreciated.   Thanks,   Becky

Scotland / Census abt 1830 Scotland O'Laughlin
« on: Saturday 23 April 05 05:12 BST (UK)  »
I am seeking the O'Laughlin family of thomas and Mary (Haley) O'Laughlin.  I think they had at least two sons... don't know of others.... John O'Laughlin born May 15, 1827 and Archibald born abt 1838.  Supposed to be born in the Highlands, Scotland.  That is all I know.  Perhaps a census lookup for Thomas and Mary would show at least on of the boys.  I do not think John was the oldest.  It is possible that Mary Haley was born in Scotland and John O'Laughlin born in Northern Ireland.  I am desperately looking for this family... Thanks so much for anyones help!

Antrim / OLaughlin Family Northern Ireland

I am trying to locate records on John Olaughlin and his brother Archibald.  We know they were born in Scotland ,  Highlands.. suspect their mother was from Scotland and their father Ireland.   It is supposed that the father and mother are Thomas and Mary (Haley) OLaughlin.  Johns birthdate is May 15, 1827 and Archibald abt 1838.  I would like to find more siblings and a verification of the parents. We think John came to the US about 1833 with a brother and possibly an uncle.  I can not find the passenger records to comfirm that.  Archibald came later .. possibly about 1848.  Again no records to comfirm that.  Would appreciate any help I can get.   Thank you,  Becky

I too am interested in the Bell family.  I have a Robert L. Carroll in my family line.  He married Mary Bell.  I believe both were from that same area you speak of.  Robert was born about 1752 and had the following siblings; brothers
Edward, John, Hamilton, Richard and one sister Jane.  The came to the US sometime around ?1775.  I do not know when Robert and Mary were married nor do I know either parents names.  Can anyone help me please.
Thanks,  Becky
