Hi my great grandfather Philip J Owen is also listed as a driver with RFA on his medal roll, I have searched numerous sites but cant find his service record so i think it may have been destroyed. I do have his original letter of recommendation written by Captain H Ward RFA in Dec 1909 on headed paper, heading R A Mess Kildare. I also have an original Army Form W3201 sending him home on 23/03/1917 which states service no 41666 RFA 21 revs. I also have his dispatch papers dated 21/03/1917 which states that he reinlisted on 19/10/1914. The Medal Roll has Victory, British War and Star medals, the codes are RFA/168B 13611 RFA/2A-B 3511 and SWB list RA/331. theatre of War France, qualifing date 24/03/1915. Can anyone help deceipher which regiment or battalion he may have served with and where he may have served. Any help would be appreciated, Thanks

Hi my Uncle has recently found paperwork belonging to my Great Grandfather Philip John Owen born in Swansea in 1881, we have an original letter of recommendation written for Philip by Captain H Ward RFA in December 1909, the note is on headed paper and the heading is R A Mess, Kildare. Im not sure which battalian he was with then but we also have his original discharge papers and Medal Roll which state that he earned the Victory RFA/168B 13611, Star RFA/2A-B 3511 and British War Medal, SWB list RA/331, does anyone know what these codes mean and if they give any clue to the battalian he served with? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
