Thanks for all the info I have been given on this site.  I have discovered by looking at the site www.corkpastandpresent.ie that in fact my greatgrangmother would in fact have worked for Charles William Murphy the gent who owned Streamhill House before Langley-Creagh circa 1890.  Unfortunately there is no census to troll for that era so thats knocked on the head.

I go to Doneraile a lot and have been in Streamhill House.  Badly vandalised now but was luvly house when I was a chilld in the 50's and 60's.  A lot of my relations worked there when it was owned by the Dills.  My mother worked in Creagh Castle in her  youth and apparently it was haunted.  A huntsman was drowned there.  These Creaghs were related to the Langley Creaghs of Streamhill.  Lily Langtry stayed there in her day.

Thanks for the info.  This is a great site. Actually got a great deal of info on corkpastand present about Streamhill House and the surrounding area.  Also I was wondering how you know your  grandparents worked in Streamhill House.  Was there  documentary evidence or just word of mouth.

trying to trace my greatgrandmother and unfortunately have reached a dead end but do know that she worked in Streamhill House and actually lived nearby.  She gave birth to my grandmother in 1881 so she must have worked for the Langley-Creaghs.  Wonder does anyone have a list of the staff or any other info.  Apparently she was a cook.
