Thank you garstonite, that is great but it is not my William but his uncle, the event took place in 1867. Radcliff can you tell me how much The Royal Humane society will charge to do a search or for the certificate.

Thanks so much for all your help.

Thank you Radcliff so much for the information, that is great. I will contact the Liverpool City Police site. Thanks for the info on the Mounted police. That would make sense as he was in the 9th Lancers. garstonite yes that is the correct family. Hopefully I might get something more.

Hi,

I wonder if someone can help me out, I have found a reference to Brave Liverpool Policemen, and two lists that have been taken from the Liverpool Mercury. What I am after is details on why the officers were being honoured.

My Interest is Serg 30H Now Sub Inspector William Kebby. What did he do to receive the award from the Liverpool Shipwreck and Humane Society.

I would be very grateful if someone can come up with some answers for me, as I am trying to do this for a 95 year old lady who is the granddaughter of William.

Many Thanks   :D

Hi Vbob,

It is great to hear from you, can you confirm where William died?

Also thank you for the information, his half sister Annie had four boys, Albert (1906-1978) moved to Australia, William (1909-1910), James (1918-1924) died from injuries received after an accident, and John (1922-2002) and two girls Annie born 1920 and Nellie born 1924 my grandmother.

Thank you again

Kind regards

Helen

Hi RK,

Thanks for doing this, no William only had the name Edward as far as I am aware. That said I have his army records which state he died in 1957 so it is possible that he was using another name? Not sure why this would have been but is is of course possible.

Where would I go to apply for the actual death certificate as I only had the date on his army papers? Maybe it holds the key to the mystery.

Thank you again for all your help it is very much appreciated and please let me know if I can ever help you out here in England.

Kind regards

Helen

Hi JJ,

I am not aware of Sarah and Tom having an other children sent out, but it is possible that other children came out with the Constable name but Tom was not the father. Sarah and Tom had split up and I can not locate Sarah or William or a sister Alice on the 1891 census in the UK. I find Alice on the 1901 and 1911 census and Sarah reappears in 1911. Tom I have on all census but he had remarried.

I guess Sarah could have had other children illegitimate as I can't find out about her.

I have little info and most of what I do have has been gained from his William's military records.

Thanks for the info as every little bit helps.

Just as a side I have a photo of him taken during the early 1920's that was sent to my grandmother and it was that photo that started my search for William.

Josh,

If you click the link, on the Harry Morris name in the army records and then click on the Front of Form, Back of Form this will give you the image of his Attestation paper. This gives you the basic details and a description of him on the date of enlistment.

Good luck.

Helen
