Hello,

My Name is Alan Sim,  born and raised in Fettercairn.

My Grandfather and Grandmother lived at Townhead, sometimes referred to as Broomhill,  whether that was the house or the area i'm not sure.
A place just 100yds beyond the Primary School on distillery road, there was only two or three houses and an old ruin which had been, a weavers a taylors or a cobblers shop.
My father his two brothers and two sisters were all brought up there, my grandfather died in 1951, my granny lived there until 1965.
My grandfather was the local joiner, till 1951, then my father until 1971, myself up to now.
Hope this is of some use, don't hesitate to contact me.

regards,

Alan Sim

Can anyone tell me where Townhead is/was? My great grandfather died there in 1931.

My Name is Alan Sim,
My Grandfather and Grandmother  lived at Townhead, an area just beyond the Primary School on Distillery Road, there was about three or four houses and a ruined weavers or cobblers shop there, my late father his two brothers and two sisters were all brought up there.
My Granny lived there till she passed away in 1965.
Grandfather was the local joiner till 1951, then my father till 1971,  then me to date.

Regards,

Alan Sim

I've pored over the Ordnance Survey maps but haven't seen it on a modern map.

This is the Townhead in/near Fettercairn not near Arbuthnott as "Townhead Fettercairn" is written explicitly on the death certificate.
