You are very welcome - I found it a couple of years ago and forgot about it. A terrific resource not well known about. I would guess that you have been on New Cumnock Now and Then. Best regards - Stuart :)

Hi Fee - I live in Strathaven and would be glad to look in the cemetery for you - unless you have already done so. Post the details of Granny's name.... if I find the grave I will photograph it for you.

West Lothian (Linlithgowshire) / Docherty and Dyer Bthgate and Uphall

Searching for death or remarriage of Catherine Docherty born 17 June 1941 at Hamilton Rd Bathgate. Uphall is also mentioned. Catherines mother was Elizabeth Dyer and father was Anthony Docherty - showing year of marriage as April 5th 1929 (although I cannot trace a Scottish marriage- any ideas?). Catherine's married name before she divorced was Dale. There are about 8 Dochertys born about the timescale (1929 to 1945) in the Bathgate area who could be siblings to Catherine , but I am not able to pay for all those birth certificates. Any enlightenment would be appreciated. Glad to help anyone with East Ayrshire or South Lanarkshire.

Hi Angie - a bit late I know but must tell you that the two cemetries up Afton are both "new" even though one is the old and one is the new! The OLD cemetry is actually behind the chinese takeaway on the main road. Not visible from the road. I THINK that it was the cemetry up until about 1929. Best Regards - Stuart
