The birthdate for Ruby P "Lander" at Broken Hill was in fact 14 Nov 1895.
In NSW records the exact date can be found by choosing NO for the Date of Event Range.

Be aware that some handwriting was difficult to decipher correctly.

The NSW death index has a death in 1987 of a Hubert Gavin CHARLES - mother named Rachel - so definitely another man with the same name.

Charles DAVEY, aged 74, died at Glenelg SA on 15 Apr 1965. He was recorded as a widower.
Possibly living near a son?

Charles DAVEY  was born 26 Jan 1891 at Yelta nr Moonta SA.
His parents were Charles James who died at Broken Hill in 1936, and Martha nee Bennett who died in Moonta SA in 1930.
