Handwriting Deciphering & Recognition / Cause of Death
« on: Thursday 29 December 11 20:06 GMT (UK)  »
Hello peoples.

I received this 1921 death certificate from a distant relative, and I wasn't sure of the name of the person that hit my ancestor.

My guess is that his name is "Edwin Harris". Anyone else?

It says Manslaughter on the bottom line, so would this guy have had a criminal record that I could get? (How would I get that?)

United States of America / Re: USA Free BMD?

Hi,
I realize I'm a bit late in replying, but if you need anything looked up in the USA please message me. I volunteer at the Iowa Genealogical Society in Des Moines, Iowa. Iowa is a neighboring state to Wisconsin, I think we may have some records from there. If not I can do an online search for you so you wouldn't have to pay.
Let me know!

Graveyards and Gravestones / Where are these cemeteries? (near Plymouth in Devon)
« on: Saturday 02 July 11 00:49 BST (UK)  »
Hello,

Today I was going through some old things of my great grandmas and she mentioned some burial info. In a journal she kept about her trip to England. She said some of her aunts and uncles were buried in "St. Stevens Church Cemetery" and "St. Mary's Church & Cemetery".
Since my Engish ancestors were mainly from the Plymouth area, I would make a good guess by saying they are in the Plymouth area.
Would any of you know how I could obtain burial info about them?
If you need their names I would be happy to share.

Thanks,
--Alex

So he was born about 1833, and was still living in 1916?
Do you know any counties or states he probably lived in?

1860 Census of Joseph Joy born about 1822 in New York.
Looks like he was a Carpenter.

Let me know if that image link works or not!

I'm only 15... so I don't own a debit card either... Or any piece of plastic that can be charged money  :-\

I'm guessing they won't take PayPal, Check or Cash... But I sent an email off to them asking anyway.
