Durham / John Ambrose Taylor

Looking for any information on my grandfather John Ambrose Taylor, born in Willington, Durham on 6 June 1897.  He stated on some records that he was born in Leith, Scotland, despite the 1901 census saying he was born in Willington, Durham.
His parents were Dorothy Rogerson and John Taylor, both of Willington, Durham according to the census.

John Ambrose Taylor, migrated to Australia in 1924 and died here in Western Australia in 1967.

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Can anyone help. I have hit a brick wall. I am trying to find Margaret Taylor who was 23 years old when she married Maxmillian Klingner in Brisbane Australia on 30 Sep 1876.
Margaret has put on her marriage certificate that she was a spinster and came from Durham England. Her parents are named as Richard Taylor and Ann Robinson. Cannot find any records for her parents either so I am not sure if they went to Durham from somewhere else.
I would love to find any siblings for Margaret as well.

Can anyone tell me if my gggf James Rush born 1829 in Aughaval, County Mayo was a color sargeant for the South Mayo Rifles?   If so any info would be appreciated.
He married my gggm Elizabeth Fitzpatrick born 1841. 
They came to Australia somewhere between 1873-1875.
