Galway / Re: what town land parish ect is Bohermore Galway in -COMPLETED

[Edit: oops, didn't realise the original post was from 2009]

Bohermore is a residential street in Galway city.  It is (or at least was in 1850) in a townland called "Townparks"

Here it is on a map:
http://maps.osi.ie/publicviewer/#V1,530363,725710,6,8

Here's some details about Townparks from galway library placenames database (usually an excellent resource, but doesn't seem to know much about bohermore)
http://places.galwaylibrary.ie/asp/fullresult.asp?id=11441

In the census, Galway city isn't split into townlands, and Bohermore is in "Galway north urban"

Donegal / Re: Bonar (Bonner)/ Toner/ McGettigan/ Devenny/ McMonagle/ McGinley etc

With reference to the Original Post,
I think P.T. McGinley is author and Senator Peadar Toner Mac Fhionnlaoich.

Wikipedia gives some info about his family - though you'd need to double-check everything in Wikipedia:

Galway / Re: Ardrahan Cemetery help please?

I had another look on Monday.  I didn't see any NAYLOR or FELTUS.

I haven't given up though, there are about 50 more headstones which may be readable, though this could entail considerable effort.

I can ask around and see if anyone has a map or any additional details.  First, it might be helpful for me to know where you got your existing information about these burials?

Also - there are 10 to 20 headstones for families named TAYLOR there.  So just on the off-chance, consider whether there is any slim chance that Jonathon and Henrietta could have been TAYLOR rather than NAYLOR.  What do you think?

Joe

Hi Kerri,
I had a look around the Church of Ireland cemetery in Adrahan, there are several headstones dating back to 19th century, but most of these are illegible.
I didn't see one for your grandmother, but I'll try to find out if there is a separate written record of who is buried there.  Will post back here when I have more info.
