« on: Tuesday 05 November 13 20:50 GMT (UK)  »
If anyone is interested to check if their ancestors owned a car or cycle which was registered in County Armagh in 1911-12 and 1914-15 then they can check out the following links:

http://lurgan-ancestry.co.uk/index.php/irish-motor-directory-for-county-armagh-1911-12/

and

http://lurgan-ancestry.co.uk/index.php/irish-motor-directory-for-county-armagh-1914-15/

The 1911-12 Register contains approx 200 names and the 1914-15 Register contains approx 500 names.

Hope it helps in your research.

Hi Noland,

Who was the relative that you found, glad the site helped you trace that.

I reckon it could be a good resource for people who have old photos of a car registration and can easily trace who the owner was.

Hi Quinn,

No sorry i don't have any other editions. I was at PRONI today and they do not have any editions of the Irish Motor Directory.

I would love to try and get other editions.

Ireland / Irish Motor Directory for 1911
« on: Wednesday 02 October 13 20:52 BST (UK)  »
I have published the Irish Motor Directory 1911-12 by Henry G. Tempest.

The Directory covers all 32 Counties in Ireland and also includes six County Boroughs (Belfast, Cork, Dublin, Limerick, Londonderry & Waterford).

The Directory lists the Registration, the Owners Name & Address and whether the vehicle is a Car or Bicycle.

The Irish Motor Directory is located at the following link :

I hope this info is useful those tracing ancestors in Ireland.

Laura,

You can try the following link to the British Newspaper Archive for the Belfast Telegraph. The murder may have been reported on in the newspaper.

If you join you get a few free credits to view 3 newspaper articles. You view a page as a PDF Document and can zoom in to read articles.

Hi Suzy,

My website www.lurgan-ancestry.co.uk mentions a few surnames of Gaddis in the 1800's. Andrew, Henry, George, James and Charles are all mentioned.

Just type in the surname in the 'Search' facility on the website.

Regards,
Andy

Hi Hunniford,

Slaters National Directory of Ireland 1881 - Lurgan; lists a few Honeyford's in the section Farmers (Parish of Drumcree).

James Honeyford,
M. Honeyford,
Richard Honeyford,
Thomas Honeyford.

The link to view the record is:
