Hello MacCailein,

Thank you so much for trying to help me by giving me the advise on what to do and where to try, I appreciate your help.  The details on Matthew's marriage record give his surname as Cronouge, but on the 1891 census it is given as Cronin, but I will contact the records office in Scotland as you suggested, once again thank's.

Please could some one help me find which part of Ireland  my Gr Gr Grandfather came from.  I have few details as follows: Matthew Cronouge/Cronin born circa 1863, the son of John Cronouge/Cronin and Margaret Foster/Forster  Matthew's father's occupation is given as a Labourer.  Matthew married Agnes Polland in the District of Larkhall in the County of Lanark Scotland on the 2nd October 1884 and the census I have just states that he was born Ireland, I have been told Co Down but I'm not so sure.  I would appreciate any information on this family.

Hello Kenjo

Thank you so much for your reply, I did have a quick look last week to see if I had any replies, but did not have the time to sit and answer you , again thank you.   These people were my Gr. Gr. Gr. Grandparents, and I have since found out that Richard's father was Peter Polland who married a Agnes Barclay and they lived in a place called Den, Dalry Ayr, and I have been told that Peter was buried there and he was a coalminer so I will put out another search to see if any one has any information on these two people, I don't know if they originally came from Ireland. Your information has been a great help to me.   I now have the task of trying to find more information on this family in the district of Cambusnethan Lanark.  Thank's.

                                                       Regards
                                                  Cloonfinlough.

Hello Karen, I have just read your reply and not one of the names you have mentioned have any connection to me, so I guess it is a different Storrie family.  I wish you all the very best with your search and I'm sure someone of the right Storrie family will be in touch with you.

                                               Regards

Hello, my name is Jackie, I am not a descendent of the Storrie family, but my Gr Gr Gr Grandfather William Pender was married to Bethea Storrie, they had 10 children one being my Gr Gr Grandfather John Pender, who was born 19 January 1818 at Cultsykefoot Farm Whitburn.  I hope this little bit of information will be of interest to you.  I am trying to trace my father's family line, on his mother's side.

                                            Regards
                                              Jackie
