Hi Dart007,

If James William was your Grandfather, then you must be the Son or Daughter of one of his Sons,  I have tried to find his Sons over the years! We even went out to chinchilla, and found James Williams unmarked  grave, but didn't find out any info on his wife Emma or his  Sons.

Would love to have contact with you and give you any info on my Mum's side of the family the Townsends that I can.
Cheers
Tadge

Hi Copeland

I've just found your message while trying to track down James William Townsend, my uncle who died in Queensland in 1950. He was the grandson of the William James Townsend being researched by you. The son of the William James born in c 1862 was James William (b1882, married 1908, died 1933 in a vehicle accident on Shinciffe Bridge in Durham, and we have a copy of the newspaper report) - he was my grandfather. We have a photo of him and a copy of the Death Certificate.

His son James William emigrated to Queensland in 1949, cut his finger in a sawmill and died in 1950 from the treatment he received (sulphurmurazine). We have a copy of the Coroner's Report from the Queensland Records Office in Brisbane. We have photos and his army medals.

His sister was my mother Mary.

Hope this is of interest
