My Grandfather CharlesP Burns was born in Merthyl @1858 to Irish immigrants Patrick and Abigail( Moriarty) Burns.Patrick worked in the iron works, I believe. The family left Wales @1860 and returned to Ireland and had more children there..They would have baptised the baby Charles in a Catholic Church in Wales.. I have tried in Vain to find a birth record. Tonight , I just figured out the Myrth spelling in his Rhode Island obit was spelled wrong and it was probably supposed to be Merthyl. Can you lead me to a birth /Baptismal record? It has been a long journey and I hope to find more clues to figure out his place of birth. Thank you .
