Hi Loubeedo23. Great to see another connection to our family.
I'm a granddaughter of Charles Ball, younger brother to your Great grandfather James. Over time we have connected 4 of the 7 Ball children at 9 Milbourne Ave. Still searching for John, Joseph and Thomas. This site has helped me immensely to connect with family. As Ourgang mentioned I think you need 3 posts to message directly however I sent a message you and it appeared to have been sent

Kind regards

Dublin / Drumcondra churchyard

Does anyone have information on the Drumcondra churchyard? My understanding is that it is Church of Ireland yet I have family buried there who were RC. I can only imagine they were buried there do to the proximity to their home on Clonturk Ave. I don't live in Ireland but have been to the churchyard a number of times on family visits and know there are some famous people buried there. Thanks in advance.

Shane, I was looking at the hospital form again and although it shows M beside TF age 9 the original search for TF in the Census comes up with a Female age 9 for those initials at the Rotunda. Possible error in transcripton ? I found no other Teresa Farrelly's that matched in all counties for 1901 Census. Teresa had a sister named Cecelia. She is the only sibling we are aware of but I'm sure there were more. Thanks again for your leads.

Dublin / Farrelly family
« on: Sunday 29 January 12 16:39 GMT (UK)  »
I am trying to get detail on my maternal grandmother Teresa Farrelly who I found in the 1911 Census.  At that time she was a domestic servant in the Moore household of Union Place Rathmines/Rathgar. When I searched the 1901 Census for her all I could find were initials T F showing in Temple St hospital. The age seems to match and I have always been aware that she was an orphan. Was it common for orphans to be counted in the Census without a full name ? Teresa was separated from her siblings at some time unknown. I can only presume she was put into service when she was of age thus accounting for her presence in the Moore household in 1911. Teresa married my Grandad Charles Ball in 1911 who was a postman. I believe he may have met her as he was making his mail rounds in Rathmines. For years our family did not even have the correct spelling of Teresa's surname but between the Census of 1911 and Familysearch.org which shows the marriage record that part of the puzzle is solved. Curious about the initials though and if there is any way of tracing her as an orphan during that time. Thanks in advance for any help. :)

Dublin / Ball Family

I'm currently trying to trace the Ball family who lived on Milbourne Ave, Drumcondra as seen in the 1901 and 1911 Census. My Grandad Charles Ball was one of 9 children in that household born to James and Sarah. The family of Charles is still very well connected between Ireland,England, Canada and Australia but we wonder where the decendents of the other children in that family may be. We were told that Mary Ball emigrated to the USA (year unknown). Curious if anyone out there may be connected.

I have also been doing some research on the early life of my maternal grandmother who was also an orphan. We found her in listed as a domestic servant in the 1911 Irish census. In the previous census of 1901 we found her only with her initials in what appears to be an orphanage in Dublin.

I'm certain by now you have found what you were looking for but if you haven't you will by opening the following link. :)

http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1901/Dublin/Kingstown/York_Street/1318424/

There are 3 Dewey girls listed. One is Florence, (shows up 2x) Beatrice and a third by the name of Lily. I didn't see a Louise though.

Good luck on your search
