Henry Smith was my Great, Great grand father, he lost his life at sea , Eastern Inlet, Tasmania on the 12th June 1847 on a ketch 'Fanny'. We are unable to find his birth certificate or when he came to  Tasmania. Don't think that he was a convict as we can find no record of that. any help will be very much appreciated. Noeline.

Hi, any thing really as that is as far back as I have been able go. I was browsing Ancestry ( I think ) and saw their names with the date = 6th April 1845 = with names and = Tong, St. James. = I just noted it down thinking I would get back to it and have been unable to find it again, Thanks once again, Noeline. ???

Hi,
I am looking for information on Henry Smith [ born 1818 ? ] Lost his life sailing from the Montague river Tasmania to Stanley on a cutter = Fanny 1884.
I can follow his wife's family back [Stearne and Thorp] but can't trace Henry Smith.
