Hi Lisette, hope I am not to late in replying. I have to check out my family and would love to have a look at your tree but I don't know how to get on it.
I am not sure if you are a direct line. The name does not ring any bells but as I haven't been on my tree for such a long time I need to look. My tree is on Genes and Ancestry but I have my file here. You say you are a G/Granddaughter of Henry Hawkins, when was he born? If you could give me some dates of your family it would be a great help. My family was Hannah Shingleton and James Henry Hewitt. You mention cousin Doreen, not even sure about her, whatever information you could give me would be a great help/

Hi Allan,
Thanks for your help.
Have tried everything looking for children, well when I say everything I mean as far as I can go as I am not that up with computers.  I know there were some children but not sure how many and I would really like to know as they would be my cousins. Have you some advice as to how I can trace them.
All I know is that Norman remained in the Air Force and served in Germany after WW11. He was a Wine Merchant and that is about all I know. I have a photo of him and his wife who was known as Maria.
At the time of death he was living in Collets Green, Powick, Worcester. Maybe I should get the death cert of his wife and hope for a child on there, what do you think? It sounds to me as if you know he had a son but can't say anything about him, could you perhaps give me a clue where to look!!!

Thanks Sue for the info on Leslie. I didn't have his exact birth date only the quarter so that is terrific.
Also the death in 1977. I just wish I could find out if there were any children, I am sure my father told me there were but I never managed to get the names of my cousins from him.

I am looking for some information on Norman F Green, he was born 10 Feb 1913 in the Irish Republic and died 10 Mar 1987 Worcester. He was married to Alice Marie Bonne/Butcher 1937 Kent. I have his death certificate but his wifes maiden name was not on it and as yet I haven't sent for the death cert of Alice which is perhaps what I should do which would maybe give me a child as I know they did have them.  Norman was the third son of James Bertram Green and  Clara Grace Emmeline Hewitt. His brothers were Bertram James, Ernest Arthur and Leslie Mark I also have nothing on Leslie Mark born 1914 Dover Kent married to Elizabeth J Whitteridge born 1920 Canterbury Kent.
Any help on these would be appreciated

Hi Lizzie,
I hope you receive this. I have received your personal message but for some reason I cannot reply. It says delete but nothing else so I don't know how to contact you. As you can see I am new to this and I don't want your message to disappear.
I would love to find out more from you and Mollie. Please could you tell me what I am doing wrong as this is so frustrating.

Hi,
I was looking for the name Shinglestons, checked on google and found your messages about the family. I am also a descendant of the Shingleston family through James Shingleston 1820 - 1899 and Sarah Shepherd c1816 - 1870. My great grandparents are Hannah Shingleston and James Henry Hewitt. Hannah is not well known as a family member because on the 1851 census she was staying with her grandparents William & Hannah in Neptune Square. I only found out this through her marriage and then birth certificate which I have.
I was interested to find out about Williams parents, I think I have made a mistake as I have William and Ann instead of William and Sarah Ann Bundock. I have never been able to check this out as I rec the info from another source. I notice you also have the father Thomas Shinglestone and Mary Grant which also I did not know. I also noticed that the spelling of the family had changed, I picked that up on my certificates that I have which threw me at the time.
Look forward to hearing from you  Julia
