Kinzer-
I know whereof you speak re: the Irish propensity for song, but not for personal history.  After I posted before, I figured out how to, and did, send you a personal message (pm), with my private email address.  As Annie wrote above that you have to have posted here 3x in order to SEND private messages ("pm"), I don't know if you have to have posted here 3x in order to RECEIVE personal messages.  If you respond to this post, that will give you your 3 posts, in order to be able to have the option to send my your private email, so we can communicate directly.     Alternatively, perhaps you could check your email or spam folder to see if you received a pm from me, through this web site?

It appears you and my father are second cousins.  I would like to talk with you privately.  Are you on ancestry.com?  If so, what's your user name there?  Are you Cornelius Francis' son or living daughter?

Donegal / Kildaragh Diver/Dever & Herraghty (sp?)

Am looking for info on Diver/Dever of Kildaragh.  Great grandmom was Mary Diver (b 1866).  She emig to US and married Maurice Duffy.  Both died in US.

Parents were

1. Simon Diver (1835 - 1879), son of Cornelius Diver (1802 - 1867, possibly died in Ummerafad) and Nellie Ferry

2.  Bridget Herraghty (1836 - in US after 1921), daughter of Michael Herraghty and Catherine McGinley.  Sib was Edward

Simon and Bridget married circa 1860.   Other children included Fanny, Michael, Patrick, Ellen, Thomas, Margaret.

Please forgive my spelling errors.  The parents' names are pretty certain.  Sibs to be confirmed/added to, depending on new info.

Thank you in advance for any insights!

Donegal / Dunfanaghy Duffy & Creeslough McFadden
« on: Wednesday 06 April 11 07:36 BST (UK)  »
Looking for any info or suggestions for great grandparents:  He was James Duffy (b 1830, emig to US 1900 from Pound Street in Dunfanaghy, died US 1901).  His brothers may have been John, Hugh, Patrick.  One unknown sib or uncle was nabbed for counterfeiting.

She was Catherine McFadden (b circa 1830, died before 1901).  She's from Tirlin, Creeslough, possibly Doe Parish.  Her father was Anthony McFadden, no idea on mother.  Two of her brothers were Dennis and Patrick (who married Rose Gallagher).

James and Catherine married circa 1850.  They had Michael (b 1850?), Maurice (b 1864) Bridget (b 1865?), John (b 1865?), James (1867), Mary Anne (b 1871), Catherine (b 1873), Charles (b 1875).

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Merionethshire Lookup Requests / Corwen birth lookup please Nov 1821 Davies
« on: Wednesday 06 April 11 06:45 BST (UK)  »
I'm looking for Corwen birth and parentage info on my great grandmother, Elizabeth Davies, born circa Nov 1821.  Father was either Edmond or Edwin (as best as I've deciphered from her English marriage cert).  No info known on E's mother.  Any other family, sibs, etc., would also be greatly appreciated (may have had a brother Robert).  Her father was a farmer.  I know little about her.  She cooked for Royal Guard, moved to England at some point, and had a child out of wedlock in 1857, then married Richard Bray in 1859.  Thank you in advance for any help or suggestions!
