Hi Neil

Is your Mum's name Betty who lives in Utah & a sister called Ann who lives in Arizona by any chance? If the answer is yes then I'm pretty sure Jim may have already been in touch with them (that's if it is the same Jim who's my Dad's cousin).

I'm the Grand-daughter of Samuel Scott Saunders and GGrand-daughter of John Paton Saunders & Mary Scott Saunders.

Kind regards
Marjory

I'm unable to phone.  Do you know if they have an email address?

Thanks...
Sarra
PS. Looks like I messed up trying to quote...can never get the hang of it. :-[

Try here http://bit.ly/XjGYn4 - just change the name of the Fife cemetery to one you're looking for.

Thank you for that MC at least now I know the cemeteries, the only problem now is getting in touch with them...as I am in Australia makes ringing a little expensive

You can make an online enquiry using this form: http://bit.ly/XjGYn4 - just need to put the name of both cemeteries in the subject box

Hope that helps

Thanks to both. Will keep looking

The records may be in the County Buildings Cupar with the Burials Clerk in the Council's Bereavement Services: Tel: 01334 659336  It's easier for them to look up if you have date & place of death.

I've just been in touch with the Burials Clerk in Cupar regarding my Great Grandmother and they were most helpful - they got back to me in a couple of day with the name of the cemetery and the plot number.  I'll be going up to Cupar Cemetery in the next few days (hopefully) to try & find where she is.  If you get plot information I will try & get a photo for you.

The FFHpre 1855 Death CD - would that be available for purchase.
The reason I ask is because I have some others that are possible buried in the 'Dysart Cemetery' too.

Many thanks.

My g/g/aunt Isobel McLaren born 1853 Port of Monteith, died 08 Aug 1939 Largo Fife, and her husband Robert Wilson died 01 Apr 1928 Largo, Fife.  Both lived at Lundin Links.  I have no idea as to cemeteries in this area  ??? so can someone help please.

There are 2 Cemeteries in Largo (which is split into Upper Largo & Lower Largo):

Largo Cemetery , North Feus, Upper Largo, KY8 6ER, and
Largo And Newburn Parish Church , Church Place, Upper Largo, KY8 6EH

Armagh / Re: James Cassidy Armagh
« on: Wednesday 19 September 12 20:50 BST (UK)  »
My G-Grandfather John Cassidy had a brother James Henry whose birth on 4 May 1877 was recorded at Clonroot, Richill, Co Armagh. Their parents were Joseph and Rebecca who were married at Kilmore Church of Ireland in 1872 (Joseph was a widower so may have had another family with his first wife).

If your James was CoI then there may be a link as very few Cassidy families listed on the Irish Census were CoI.

I've very little info about John apart from he brought his wife & daughter (my Gran) to Scotland c1907 but he disappeared out of my Gran's life a few years after her Mum died (believed to have gone to England), he was thought to have been in the army during Boer War but so far not found anything between his birth in 1879 and getting married in 1905, he was on Scottish Census 1911.

Lanarkshire / Re: Rodger
« on: Friday 13 July 12 21:40 BST (UK)  »

My Gran was Annie Murray Rodger daughter of Hugh's brother Thomas Greenshields Thomson Rodger. Earlier today I visited my sister who was wanting to compare some notes on the Rodger's side of the family and I decided it was time to do some more research & ended up on here!

I have a large folder of information relating to Hugh's mother's family the Greenshields.  A pedigree was drawn up for James Greenshields (son of George Ballantyne Greenshields and Margaret Bisset), who died intestate on 3 June 1958, it shows that Hugh and Jane married in 1875 and that they had no issue.  However, this has been corrected in the folder showing a son James C Rodger b 1876 in Douglas and Jean G G Rodger born 1881.  It also states in the folder that Hugh died in a pit accident in 1882.
