George, I happened to see your inquiry and thought I would take a look in Canada. I found a 1861 Canadian Census[/u]George Pease,: Age 46; Born 1815; Birthplace: England; Marital Status: Married, Home in 1861: Location: Richmond, Canada East; Religion: Church of England. George is also listed as being a farmer in Canada East, Quebec.
Canadian Cencus 1851, he evidently participated in a Agricultural Study (same census) and there is a Mary Pease on the next line. Mary born in 1820, England (on what they called a census form). Would that be about right? I did not see where Mary married name appeared, but am assuming she was the wife of George, as her name was on the next line, but no last name. I am betting that not having the last name on the wifes might suggest a "informal census" or used as information for the area's census.
As for Isabelle Barwick, I am wondering whether or not she may have been connected to my family.
My Barwicks include: William Barwick, father of John Ebenezer Barwick. William Sampson Barwick, John's brother, who was a land speculator and both William and John had a brick and a building business. I also beleve Thomas and Richard Barwick were also my relatives.
Something else caught my eye...under Border Crossings, there was a Isabella Barwick, Fanny Barwick brn. about 1879, and a Elizabeth Barwick, three years old, all sailing together...I believe Fanny and Isabelle were both born abt. 1879 in England and arrived in the US in 1893. The ship that left Liverpool was the S.S. Michigan, under the command of Master S. Walders.
One other thing about Isabella Barwick Do you have records of your Isabelle Barwick marrying a a Harry Barwick? Found records for that also. Hope something clicks with you here.
